How to help your kids get off the couch
Many children today are spending too much time in front of the TV and computer screen. If you’re worried about your kids being couch potatoes, here are some top tips to keep the kids active:

Toddlers

  • Give them balls to bounce or put up a swing set or a small play gym.
  • School-age children

  • Make sure they have safe and easy access to bikes, basketballs, skipping ropes and other toys that encourage them to get out and play with the other kids in your neighborhood
  • Organise regular ‘play dates’ and take kids to a park or somewhere safe to run around
  • Teens

  • Search for their sports equipment and let your teen teach you something about the sport he or she plays.
  • And most of all set an example. Encourage your children to be active by being active yourself and promoting a fit and healthy lifestyle.
